Suriname is a tiny country on the coast of South America. A former Dutch colony that only became independent in 1975, Suriname is still largely undeveloped. The main reason to come to Suriname is the rainforest. According to Wikipedia, approximately 80% of the original rainforest still remains intact.  To preserve the natural beauty of the country, Suriname has designated several national parks.  Two of the most memorable are Central Suriname Nature Reserve and Galibi Nature Reserve. Central Suriname Nature Reserve is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
