Ethiopian Visa Requirements to Visit the Konso Cultural Landscape

This month's featured UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the newest additions to the list. Ethiopia's Konso Cultural Landscape was just designated as a World Heritage Site this year. The Konso Cultural Landscape is the ancestral homeland of the Konso people, a group of farmers and herders living in South Central Ethiopia.
According to UNESCO, the site "constitutes a spectacular example of a living cultural tradition stretching back 21 generations (more than 400 years) adapted to its dry hostile environment. The landscape demonstrates the shared values, social cohesion and engineering knowledge of its communities."

Are you looking for an adventure travel destination that's way off the beaten path? Gadling recommends taking a trip to Ethiopia's Somali region.
Though there aren't many visitors and amenities are scarce, if you're not averse to "roughing"it there are a lot of attractions. Alibilal Cave is covered with prehistoric cave paintings of African wildlife like giraffe and gazelle. Meanwhile, a nearby national park gives you the opportunity to see these animals in person, plus lions and elephants. Even better, the region is overflowing with hot springs to relax in.

Harar, Ethiopia is ancient city that dates back to at least the 11th century AD. Historically, the city has long been famous for arts like weaving, basketry and bookbinding. It's also famous for its delicious coffee, which is considered to be some of the best, if not the very best, in the world. Although there's no hard proof, some believe that Harar is the birthplace of the energizing beverage, without which some of us simply could not function. Thank you, Harar!
Harar is considered to be the fourth holiest city in Islam, and the city's walls enclose as many as 110 mosques, some of which are almost as old as the city itself. There's a lot to see here, and the city's inhabitants are generally friendly and welcoming to tourists.
