Get an Indian Visa to See Nanda Devi and the Valley of Flowers
March 11th, 2010
This week's UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Week is a set of two national parks in India, Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers. Nanda Devi is India's second-highest mountain, rising 25,643 feet into the air. It is often referred to the patron goddess of the Uttarakhand Himalaya.
Nearby, the lush beauty of the Valley of Flowers offers a pleasing contrast to the jagged peaks of Nanda Devi. As you might expect from the name, Valley of Flowers is covered in so many flowers that locals legends say it is inhabited by fairies!
UNESCO named both parks World Heritage Sites in 2008, saying:

Uganda is one of only three countries where you can see mountain gorillas in the wild. Most of the gorillas live in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park shelters approximately 300 mountain gorillas, half of all the mountain gorillas that exist in the entire world.
To visit Uganda as a tourist, US citizens need a passport, which must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you enter the country, and a Ugandan tourist visa. You may apply for a visa upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, or to be on the safe side you can apply for one before you leave the US. Many airlines won't let you get o

The Nigerian tourism industry is still in its infancy. Development and facilities are quite limited; however, if you don't mind roughing it, the country is filled with interesting things to see and do.
Nigeria's most popular tourist destinations are natural parks, including Yankari National Park, Cross River and Old Oyo. These parks feature breathtaking scenery and an amazing variety of animal and plant life, including animals that most of us only encounter in zoos, like elephants and lions.
Tourists also visit Nigeria to see cultural attractions, like the parades of the Durbar festivals and the shrines and temples of the Yoruba religion.
According to Wikipedia, in 2007 travel and tourism was expected to bring the equivalent of $10 billion into the Nigerian economy, making up
