Armenia broke off from the Soviet Union and became independent in 1991. After a rough start, Armenia’s economy has taken off, and according to Wikipedia, “Armenia has had strong economic growth since 1995.”
If plan to take a business trip to Armenia, you do need to be prepared with the appropriate travel documents. In addition to your US passport, you will also need an Armenian business visa. Here’s what you need to get one:
- 1 completed Armenian visa application form
- 1 passport photo

- A business letter of responsibility from your employer in the United States.
The business letter of responsibility must guarantee return transportation and sufficient funds to support you while you are in Armenia, and must state the nature of your business and provide the name and address of the company you will be visiting in Armenia. It should be signed by someone at the company other than you, and should be addressed to:
Embassy of Armenia, Visa Section, Washington, DC
